Salone Nadwa's Owner calls it straight for fall hair

Revamp your hairstyle, and you've already steppedout on the road to a new fall look, says salon owner Nadwa Yono of Salone Nadwa and Day Spa in Novi.

There's tons of trendy news on the fall hair front. And recently, Yono chatted up some of the latest happenings.

Here's what she said:

Q: What's the hottest fall look?
A: Fall is all about very straight, shoulder-length hair. It's all one length, and slightly shorter in the back with short, baby-bangs. Sort of like a mod look. We're getting away from the shag look; that's ancient.

Q: What's the deal with curly hair?
A: The '80s was about really big hair and curls, and a little of that has come back. But the curls aren't as tight. The look now is about enhancing natural curl or wave. And even though curls and waves are more popular in the spring and summer, we'll also see them this fall.

Q: What's the new thing with short hair?
A: Short hair is where texture comes in - spikes, waves, curls, choppy looks.

Q: How does color play out?
A: Color is solid, whether it's brunet, blond or red. If we are doing some highlights, we are doing blond on blond. We will do color all over the head and then maybe six chunky highlights, that's it.

Q: Is there an overall message?
A: Hair is more messy; it is not perfectly done. Whatever the texture of the hair, we are just taking it and making an updo with it, or just making it work. Versatility has a lot to do with it.

Q: At the hair shows that you've dropped in on recently, what's the biggest buzz?
A: Hair accessories! Pinning hair back with accessories is a really hot look. Yo've seen the butterfly clips and barrettes, but now we are getting into the crowns and individual hair jewels.
